Coming back from being pretty MIA lately. For the past year or so, I've been tracking myself...here's why. A few brief thoughts on lunar/solar cycles, their effect on gender-based work/productivity and then a transition to MBTI, gender stereotypes and a candid reflection on this ENTP discovery. Ending with a response to two pieces of feedback I've recently received. Breakdown below the video.
Originally published on the Yellow Co. Blog on September 13, 2017. // This year, I officially crossed over into my 30s. I chose to celebrate this occasion with my husband and the waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing into the rugged coastline of Big Sur. From the sheer cliffs that drop a thousand feet or more, to the sound of the waves thrashing at the granite below; the dichotomy of danger and beauty reflected the state of my inner world as I entered another decade of existence.
I spent my 20s planning my life away in an Excel spreadsheet. I planned to get married at the age of 24, have kids by 28, and be coasting in my career at the age of 30. What I didn’t plan for was a broken engagement, health issues, experiencing misalignment in my work, and choosing to pivot and become a student all over again.
In December, I like to have a ritual of intentionally opening myself up to the Universe for inspiration about next steps. Part of that inspiration usually takes the form of a video. I don't actively take steps to "find" an inspirational video, but I do click on videos I would typically skip over in hopes of finding "the one."
Some photos from our very merry Christmas glamping experience with Airbnb. It was so wonderful just to get away and reflect on the blessings and challenges of the year and RESET for 2018 (while eating lots of food and watching lots of movies).
My very first "To: Jackie, From: Jackie" experience. Why I did it, why sacrifice and giving are mutually exclusive and nine self-care gifts recommendations for you, from you to keep your cup full so you can BE love and light this holiday season.
Finishing up some final touches on our offie space, and really working hard to refine furniture placement and systems for max productivity. I'm obsessed with efficiency because the sooner I get my work "done," the sooner I can play!
November is here and that means adjusting and keeping alignment with the flow of the seasons. I think planning the year by quarters is helpful, but I am not down for the traditional January 1st "New Year" date. For the past three years, I've aligned my quarters with the rhythm and cycles of nature instead of our traditional Gregorian (Julian) calendar which commemorates the Gods and Emperors of the Roman empire.
